Puppy of the Day!
Willy is a very friendly guy. He is often found playing with his siblings or napping. He is also pretty vocal, but we like to look at that as a dog that knows what he wants! A fun fact about him is that he was the first to really catch onto using the potty area! Usually for my puppy of the day photo, I use a headshot of them on that day. I am going to do something different and take a photo of them doing something that makes them happy!
Happy four weeks to the Wonkanators! We had a busy day here. They took headshots, had their stacked photos taken, had company and met my sister and her son again. This time they were much more interactive.
Our stack training is paying off because about 5 of the puppies stood well for photos. Of course they are still a bit young to evaluate for structure, but it is always fun to see how they change from week to week.
We have been planning on adding a small crate to the box for a few days, and today was the day. Tipsy tried to crawl inside of it after one of the times that she nursed today, but she was too big. The puppies went right inside and even enjoyed a few naps in there throughout the day.
Crate training is very important for a dog. They are den animals and view crates as their safe place. Crating a dog should never be a punishment. We will start crate training here in a positive manner by leaving the door open for them to go in and out of. They will see it as being just a different type of bed and that will transfer to their special area when as they get older and are in their new homes.

Puppy of the Day!
Mike is a cuddle bug. He is often waiting for someone to come and sit with him or pick him up. He also enjoys the slide and is willing to please. He is a pretty confident little guy. Mike is often first to the food dish and the last one to leave!
Today we went on two adventures in the kitchen. They very much enjoyed their time outside of their pen and had fun exploring the area. Who could ask for a better day?!?

Puppy of the Day!
Augie loves belly rubs and will lay on his back for someone to pet him. He enjoys sleeping in the crate with one or two of his siblings. He is pretty outgoing and likes to play with his siblings. And he has the cutes face in the world to boot!
We Dremeled the puppies nails for the first time today. I clipped them first and them smoothed the rough edges with the Dremel. It was enough to make contact, be short and sweet, yet get the job done. They each had a very small taste of Peanut Butter (about the size of a pea spread over a paper plate that was shared by all 7) for this adventure. A few of the puppies were exceptional, while a couple of the others needed some extra encouragement. Nothing abnormal for their first time!
They also heard thunderstorm for the first time today. It was very mild, which is perfect for introducing something like this for the first time. It lasted on and off for about 1 hour. None of our adult dogs have issues with storms or fireworks. We use the same protocol for both. We ignore that it is happening, watch for any fearful behavior, yet keeping them calm. We play, do a training session, or give them a chew project. Eventually, they don’t really think much about loud things happening around them. We have had great success by doing this!
We expanded their area again today. This will likely be the last time that they get an addition until they leave us for their new homes. We will do daily obstacle changes as well as continuing toy changes. Check out Willy using the slide!

Puppy of the day!
Ollie loves to play with his siblings and is an active dude. He is often hopping around and enticing the other puppies to play with him. His favorite toy is the wobble board that we put in today. He likes it when it is upright, upside down, and even when he has to share it with someone else!
The other puppies were fans of the wobble board too. It will teach them about the front end awareness when they have their front paws on it and rear end awareness when they have their hind limbs on it. Useful all around!
We also introduced the balls to the puppies today. They had a blast with them! They raw them rolling and they bounced around in them and had a ball – pun intended!
We also had a visitor today that Tipsy dint mind at all! She actually took a nap on the window seat in the kitchen during the visit!

Puppy of the day!
Charlie is one fo the sweetest puppies. She likes the slide, but is more often seen taking a nap. She loves the large fluffy bed, but can be found in the crate, taking a drink, playing with toys, or climbing on the obstacles!
I forgot to mention the new flopping fish from yesterday too. They are actually a cat toy from Costco that we purchased a few months back. We were on our way to visit with a friends litter at the beginning of this year and found these large cat toys and knew that they would be a hit with puppies. Willy is a fan!

Puppy of the Day!
Veruca is a middle of the road puppy. She enjoys her sleep just as much as she enjoys running around and playing with her siblings. She is often found in, well i guess the best word for it is.. unique sleeping positions. That is why she is shown here sleeping the way that she is.
We received so very special results today. We have been waiting on the puppies DNA panels to come back and we now have them! We have one LUA puppy in the litter. Mike is one lucky dude! We also have more information on them such as who is liver factored and some other small things that we look for when choosing who will go where and if a puppy will be shown.
Today the puppies met Hulk Hands. They are foam very large hands that I put on when i went into the puppy pen. No one even seemed to notice that they were different at first and everyone had pets from them with out being phased at all. Then they realized that they are foam and started to chew on them.

Puppy of the Day!
Violet is a very sweet girl that is eager to please and be with her people. She is often waiting at the gate to come out and roam around the kitchen. She loves her people and to get petted when we walk by her.
Not a very long post today because we didn’t have a lot of changes today but, we did have another visitor who loved the puppies. We also had our usual playtime in the kitchen and everyone had a blast.
