First Breeding – February 24, 2024
Today we had our first breeding. This means that we have an official due date of April 27, 2023, accounting for 2024 being a Leap Year! We are excited for Tripp and Tipsy and of course to meet the little ones in the coming months!
Whelping Box – April 6, 2024
Today we put the whelping box up. Being that this is Tipsy’s first litter, it is important to leave enough time for Tips to familiarize herself with the box. I cant say that it took long for her to jump in. Her housemates are also investigating the box as well. Approved by all!
Puppy Movement – April 9, 2024
We first felt puppy movement on this evening and were able to get a short clip of one tiny puppy kick. Watch for it right in the middle of the video!
Continued Puppy Movement – April 16, 2024
Puppy kicks are beginning to become larger as the puppies grow and gain strength. This is a pretty good video from this evening! We cant wait for the puppies to arrive. Stay tuned for updates in the coming 10 days! You may also notice in the video that Tipsy has lost a good amount of hair on her belly. That is completely normal around this time of pregnancy. Tipsy is right on schedulue! This is just an aid for the puppies when rooting for the best source of milk.
X-ray Day – April 18, 2024
Today we had an x-ray taken for a general headcount to see an approximate size of the litter. This is a useful tool when whelping to know a general number of puppies to expect.
In the mean time, I will attach a photo of the x-ray for everyone to count skeletons/skulls too!
