Day 41

We had a very special visitor today. The puppies had the pleasure of meeting one of our mentors and longtime friends, Barb Allison. She was very happy to see the puppies as they come down from her dogs. Barb has many decades of breeding and showing experience and gave us great insight on which puppies had show potential.

All of the puppies represent the Dalmatian breed very well, but she mentioned the two specifically that we have also had our eyes on. When we are evaluating the puppies for show potential, we are looking at structure, movement, and personality. Time will tell where everyone will end up!

Now that Tipsy is completely done feeding the puppies, we have taken over full time. Over the past few weeks, we have gradually been adding more and more puppy responsibilities onto our plate.

At night, we close up the puppy pen so that they don’t have the entire area. We take the space back to being just potty area and sleeping area. We have found that this helps keep the pen cleaner at night and makes for a much quicker morning clean up. I will add before and after photos of our nighttime routine. We also close the crate for safety as they are still pretty small at this age.
